1- Call a plumber, carpenter or a mason to ur home for some little work and pay him.Start chatting and try to take the necessary information about the business and materials. Try to get the oldest guys.
2- Check and make list of materials you wish to keep in your store. Cement and bricks means you need heavy investments for a personal big warehouse or direct heavy supplies.
3- For small store you need own place (a must) or pre agreement of of minimum 5-10 years with landlord so that you can do business peacefully.
4- Materials which are available locally or little distance are always into high competition and easy priced but if you are ready to provide something different from far away you may get good profitability. Like Fluke or Megger electrical testing equipments. If you wish to make a small store with basic needs of hardware pls start check big websites of traders like indiamart.com or alibabaexpress.com. Just make a list of products and type the name of product and now start taking prices of different suppliers. Or if u wish to make personal trips search the basic cities with manufacturing things.
5- Hardware stores or Marble stores? Most easiest start is to set up a good marble flooring or floor tiles or wall tiles or all kind of tiles stores. You just need to open a swanky store with samples. Take orders and pass on to the main dealer or manufacturer with among and they will deliver to the customers.
