McDonald’s Inside Louvre, No “Big Mac” Deal

Prominent French food critic, Francois Simon, has defended McDonald’s for its plan to put up a franchise inside the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

According to the food expert, it is no big deal, since the mall already hosted several other fast-food eateries, which according to him, is far worst than the world’s biggest food chain.

Francois Simon, a prominent French food critic, on Monday brushed off earlier news which hosted negative reactions against world’s largest fast-food chain McDonald’s Food Corp. for its plan to open a store inside the Louvre Museum in Paris, France.

In an interview, Simon openly said that a McDonald restaurant inside the Louvre Mall is actually “No Big Deal,” stressing that the establishment already has other fast-food stores.

“It’s no news at all. A complete nonevent,” Simon stressed.

“As we all know, the Louvre mall has fast-food eateries even before. If you would ask me, McDonald’s is far from being the worst of them all,” he added.Likewise, the food critic applauded French newspapers for not making any unnecessary hammering on the fast-food franchise.

It will be recalled that McDonald’s came under fire from various groups, who disagreed with the planned construction.

“Louvre for all” website operator Bernard Hasquenof was one of the most vocal opposition. He said that an American heritage at the beloved Paris museum is something that would taint the French tradition of “good food”.

“I find it very sad. Having a Mcdonald’s at our national monument is a great paradox. We (French) have such great tradition of cooking and culture and yet we turn to McDonald’s for our food,” he added.McDonald’s, according to Hasquenof, is under-culture and under-cuisine.
