Dear all, My name is John. I am qualified brewer from UK.I have read your posts & questions with interest as I have also built, outfitted and operated a Pub in Saigon, Vietnam. If you want to open a brewpub/brewery anywhere you need to know how to make the beers! So you need to invest in the kit with a large enough capacity to brew several beers to offer a choice to your patrons. Then there is the bottling & kegging equipment required. This is not cheap. HOWEVER, it may be less money than people think; $20-30,000 US can do it for a 500L kit.

Then you need suitable premises to create a pleasant, inviting place with all facilities to encourage people to drink there, aside from the unique beers. Based on my experience in Vietnam a $15-25,000 investment in the fixtures & fittings of the bar & kitchen equipment would be the the norm. After all, those large TV screens or Projectors to show Sports & the sound system required is not cheap! Add more for the dispensing equipment & many glasses plus $3,000 for other stock and you are in the ballpark.

I strongly suggest you find a building that already has a bar & kitchen built inside it In my experience too many "Brewers" do not know all the factors it takes to create world class beers as they have only been shown how to re-create certain recipes by the Brewery suppliers. Frequently cutting corners on some costs can prove to be a huge problem in the long run. Licenses and permits are usually straightforward in most countries and details are generally available from the local council and the countries Liquor board. Making GOOD beer is not easy. I'd be happy to talk to anyone regarding their project as I fancy living in another part of the world. All the best, hope this helps. John
