    I've just graduated at University of Arts, London for a shoe design degree. I want to start my own shoe label.My specialty will be high-end shoes. I am working on my business plan for a starting a shoe label. How do I calculate profit margins? I'm also looking for a manufacturer in Europe preferably Italy or Spain or Greece.     @Latorria Wyche, there is almost no grant from government on this project, to make sure check this site grants.gov. But you might get a SBA loan, look for your category in sba.gov to apply for one.

    I have started designing shoes and I love it. My problem is I want more people to be able to afford my shoe. I am using www.Zazzle.com/blessedgear to sale my shoes and these guys are not bad but I want to be able to sale at a lower price. I knew a manufacturing company here in the USA but I have had no luck finding one. My shoes have been selling themselves, women look at them and want them. I can design a shoe in 20 minutes, I love this and want to expand.

    @sonal, hi sonal, that seems a problem for your husband, two ways to balance, first of all, you can think about selling the shoes you produced through online, which will cost you lower than establishing a retail shop(if you can provide me your email, I could tell you how to make the online sales effective), secondly, you can close your manufacturing center and just focus on retailing shoes in your retail shop, at the same time, ask some other plants to produce some products for you to save your time. In my opinion, the first way is much better, what do you think?

    I am also dealing with shoes business for years, and I have closed my plant to retail only, not bad really. But it seems that you are against the idea of opening a retail shop, so the first way will be OK, and give me your email ID, and I will give you some advice on online sales in details

    m 21 year old women from Tasmania Australia , who over the past years of my life have found it hard to find shoes to fit my feet as having large and wide size 13 feet. As society has changed over the years , and women are growing up with larger feet , shoes have began to be made larger , but it still frustrates me as they still not large enough and only catering to average size 12 across shoe stores in Australia . As this is a major concern of myself , I have always wished that how great it would be to be able to get any type of women's shoes to be able to fit a larger foot , and to have a business in which cater specifically for women with larger wide feet from size 10 and upwards.

    In light side of this , I would like to be able to start my own at home , and eventually on-line shoe business in which women are able to design or choose a type of shoe that they would like , where then they can sketch a tracing of their foot , with providing the correct size , in inches of width and length including ankle size and then have that sent off and have the shoe made to fit . This would be an absolute dream of mine and would like to know if there would be any one who would be interested and suitable to be able to produce this with me, and also some more information about shoe business. danni-lee@live.com.au

    @Shannon, you have come to the right place for advice,be aware that you will be receiving a lot of information regarding various people who say they can help and that's great... the target for the end of the year is an aggressive one but doable with immediate action. Do you have the designs ready? do you have a factory and contact there who can make them? eventually a website will be very important, but be sure to have all structures in place, in this business, mistakes usually lead to time wasting and money spent unnecessarily.     I currently have my own brand of safety footwear which is very successful in the uk market, but i've moved to sydney australia and require help finding stores/people to sell my products. they meet all AUS/NZ safety standards and are a very good boots similar to redback and blundstone but would be available at a fraction of the cost, thus the mark up/margin in the shop for the retailer would be greater. contact me on jamie.sheridan.78@hotmail.co.uk if your interested in selling my boots, i have many designs and shoes to show you.

    Hi, I've been doing shoe parties in my local area for a while now and am making a sizable profit however i have only really sold summer shoes, flat diamonte sandals etc. I am looking at buying in some high heels but every website i've looked at are charging too much for shipping. Is there anyone that knows of a ladies high heel supplier. I live in South England and am willing to travel in my van to collect if that is possible.
