Building a Business on eBay
If you want to manage a store from the comforts of your home, all you need is a computer, internet, and eBay store registration. There are three store levels that you can choose from and each one has a set of requirements that you need to comply.
You have to consider the needs of your business and your ability to pay for the fees.
Business on eBay
Starting a business is no longer limited in the local area or region where you live. Today, it is already possible to start your own business online in websites like eBay. An eBay business easy to put up and you need a low capital. You’re free to operate the business from home, at your chosen time, and pace. Firstly, you have to determine what works on eBay and what does not. The good thing about using this site is that you’re not limited to selling products but it is also possible to sell practical or useful information.
If you prefer to start your own online store, you can stick with eBay. You can opt NOT to sell on auctions and instead, sell items at fixed prices. When maintaining an online store, you will need to pay a monthly fee. The fees usually vary and charge the following:
- Basic Store - $15.95
- Premium Store - $49.95
- Anchor Store - $299.95
For the Basic store, you can list over 50 items a month and you will need a PayPal verified account. For the Premium, you can list over 250 items at a fixed price and aside from the PayPal account you also need a performance rating of above standard according to the seller performance standards. The Anchor account is ideal for those with high volume items. You have a chance to enjoy top savings as well as support for the sales. The requirements are the same as that of the Premium account.
Signup Info and Fees
Signup is quite easy and you simply have to check out the store registration page of eBay. There are additional requirements for starting your own store like a minimum of 20 feedback score or higher, ID verified with a $5 charge, and a PayPal account (this was already mentioned earlier).
The starting price is not a great consideration since the insertion fee is only 5-10 cents. When you upgrade the image listing gallery, you pay one cent. It is also possible to enlist multiple quantities by paying one insertion fee. There are many advantages in starting an eBay store. You can sell different items at fixed prices at a very low cost. The store can be viewed by millions of people all over the world, thereby giving your store web visibility. Choose the best store name and you should also consider SEO. With a highly optimized site, you can get great rankings on the major search engines.
