How to Start a Distillery Business
One of the leading businesses today which is really important in the beverage industry is no other than distillery. This is the number one and undisputed process in making your favorite form of alcohol may it be whiskey, beer, rum or anything. If you think that you have a blood of a chemist, then you too can have your dream distillery business. You can definitely make lots of money here because alcohol in any form is always in a high demand in any season of the year.
The distillation process is just so easy and simple today as compared to the process used before.
Even though you are home, you can have a distillery business which can give you a great income. Two of the equipments you will need are thermometer and copper pot still kit. To make sure that your business will work best, you must come up with a plan detailing all the aspects of the business. You must also decide on where to conduct your distilling. If you have enough money as capital, then you can prefer to rent or build your own distilling laboratory but if you lack capital, you can still run your business in the comfort of your home.
To get additional loans, you can go to several banks and local institutions in your area. To make sure that you will use the money in your business, of course they will ask you to present your business plan. After getting the amount of money you need in starting up your business, you must proceed in inquiring to your locality regarding the permits and license you need. In addition, you also need to have your distilled output to be tested by the Food and Drug Administration to make sure that it is safe for consumption. By being proven to be safe, you can be trusted by potential customers.
If you choose to operate at home, you will also be required by the authorized department to have your house inspected. This is done to make sure that the place is safe for distillery. By passing the inspection, you can start the business by buying or converting a copper boiling pot that is sealed. If whiskey is the one to be distilled, the boiling pot must be a grain mash. Its size will also determine the amount you will distil.
You must also make considerations on how you are going to heat the pot. Putting the certain boiling point on metal stilts or stone blocks with a fire underneath is still considered the simplest and easiest version of a copper pot which is still a usual practice for the moonshiners. The other distilling equipments also do not cost that much.
Wherever you choose to operate your business, make sure that you have a unique name for your distillery. After that, you must find a distributor company.
