@Horm Siphanna, @horn siphanna.one of the ways to minimize your costs in raising shrimps is to go back to the traditional method of raising shrimps where you will just stock 3-5 shrimps per square meters. aeration is not needed. feeding and other inputs are at minimum and labor is not that intensive. the harvest is not that big but it can generate income for sure.

mam @Nin Martinez, i know shrimps can grow in freshwater but i doubt the water quality in Laguna Lake. i suggest better to culture it in ponds where you can easily manage water parameters.

dear all, the key success factors for shrimp farming are 1.) fry or seed, 2.) feed, 3.) environment, and 4.) management. a quality fry/seed must be specific-pathogen-free, should have passed the PCR check for different viruses such as WSSV, TSV, IHHNV, etc., must be fast growing. likewise, the feeds, which is about 50-60% of your total production cost must have complete nutritional ingredients needed by the shrimps, palatable and with high stability, thus maintaining low feed conversion ratio but not compromising the growth. the environment shall focus on site selection (accessibility to the market, hatchery, water source), project design, facilities, etc. lastly, the management is the technical ability to manage the project.
