There is a tool in Six Sigma we use is called SIPOC (Supplier ,Input, Process, Output,Customer). This would certainly add flavor once you identify your customers need.

    my father is having the transportation business..although i am doing CA..i have very keen interest in my business.. i want to expand it as much as i can. i have good base as well. obviously expansion requires good management..etc.. we are mainly facing problem in hiring drivers. its not like that we are not getting drivers. but the way we want them to work, they are not working in that manner..overall business is nice. so do advise me how can i expand it. and overcome such problems..

    @Somansh Kamra - I need to know where you are based in order to assist you . It is extremely important that drivers take good care of vehicles as overheads are important. How big is the transport fleet ? A QUICK WIN is to set down some operational rules that's fair to both parties. Also have an incentive scheme for BEST DRIVER award per quarter.     @Gugu this is a very vast topic of discussion and therefore specific information is required. In order for you to get proper answers, I encourage you to outline your vision and goal statement. There are many tools used to enable each process. Eg. When one does their monthly shopping the 80/20 principle is applied. This means that 80% OF ITEMS HAS 20% VALUE .20% of your purchases would have 80% value. I'm assuming you have a passion and a vision and want to start something new.
