@Siddhartha Dehury , I think station road is the best place to have a shop for car accessories in Bhubaneshwar as you get a lot of walking customers there. But profits can be low due to competition. If you need more info, please write me a mail at md@easytradestore.com

@ShamsKK, I have provided you details you required.
@Naveen Kumar (Chennai) There is no requirement of dealership for car accessories. Please visit GP Road and Mount Road in Chennai to understand the car accessories business from wholesalers. You will find wholesale prices 20 to 30 % cheaper in Delhi. If you deduct 3 to 4 % freight (transportation) you will save around 15% to 25% in your purchases.
@Praveen Kumar (Mayur Vihar) Yes , it is advisable to open shop in neighborhood of other shops. You not only get greater footfall but you get contract labour who will install accessories on as per requirement and you save on fixed salaries. Your budget is too low. If you start with this , i fear you will not be able to make profits. So i advise against it.
@Jas (Delhi) , Kashmiri gate is a big market. You need to know the right sources which are generally located deep. Otherwise, you can be charged high by main road shops who may charge you the retail like prices.
@Gursimran, Please study the best area in your locality where a large number of cars visit and there is ample space for parking. Also take note of existing shops of car accessories , talk to them and get the feel.
@Sunil ( Vijaywada ) , Please speak to 9990900770 (Telugu). Also see details of your query already replied at this forum.
@Imran (Banswara), Please see details already in the forum about investment and other questions. Yes Banswara has good potential. Please check retail prices and compare with our wholesale prices. You will understand the difference . This can be your profit.

@Alex... I invite you to visit us in Delhi . Ernakulam/ Cochin is a big market. For wholesale you can contact RadhaGopal (Global Distributors,) M Bashir,(Automate). They offer good services. First one is Sony Distributor and the second one is JVC distributor for Kerala too. So you can find their numbers easily. The wholesale prices in Kerala are around 30 to 40 % more than Delhi.
@Mathiyazhagan , Please contact us by email. md@easytradestore.com for wholesale prices.
@Rahul Arora, Pls see the responses above. If you have further query, you are welcome on my email.
@Gagan Singh , Car wash is a good profitable and growing business in India. However, it is not much related to car accessories So it is out of topic here.
@Harpreet Kaur, I have been approached by a Germany based company specializing in Nano Technology based Car Care products. The prices are amazing so are the results. To know more , please contact me by email.

Car Accessories market operates in 2 ways which go side by side. There are around 120 product categories in car accessories trade out of which only 17 categories like car audio, seat covers, car care products and Navigation systems etc are channeled through distributors. rest 103 categories reach retailers through wholesale markets.
Main Wholesale markets in India are located in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. Though it started from Mumbai but manufacturing and Import of Car Accessories is centered in and around Delhi which caters to over 90% of the items and to 95% of the locations. Smaller wholesale markets in Bangalore, Trivendrum, Coimbatore, Surat, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Kolkata, Bhopal, Jabalpur, raipur etc are solely dependent on Delhi wholesale market.
There is another fact that wholesale margins at local levels are around 40% so most of these wholesalers would discourage new buyers to buy from Delhi, therefore come the comments like Delhi stuff is not good, its cheap etc. Most of the times these comments come from such wholesalers who are committed buyers of Delhi Wholesale Market. These days , Weight and measurement laws are being enforced strictly where printing of Name of manufacturer or Importer is compulsory on packing of every item. So you can easily come to know where the local wholesalers buy their stuff from.
To me it appears from the comments of Gagan Singh and Harpreet that they are more interested to misguide startups for their own benefits instead of helping them grow their business. Another point to mention, I post comments here as a social responsibility. Till date, i have guided over 100 startups without any intentions of making profit from such activities.

@Gagan Singh, I am the editor of these comments. I don't see any personal favoring to any of you here. Rather I have a personal request to all of you, stop being "I am good, I am Great", help others if you can.

please read Delhi Effect article at vector consulting Group. Please double check the comments made by Vector Consulting. The Delhi trader, knows only one thing, and that is to ’roll‘ his money as fast as possible and the best weapon in his hands—price! The business model is simple and in two parts: buy large quantities at cheap prices and sell them cheaper still. The first part is executed very well with the sales or territory manager who sees this as an easy way to meet his numbers and actively get the best discounts from his company

@Hakim. Good questions
1. Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai are good markets where you can buy car accessories in wholesale. Prices are also in this order. However every market has its specialised set of products.
2. Yes, There is Central sales tax applicable if products are moved interstate. rates of CST are equivalent to VAT applicable in the origin state. However practically, it comes to 2% of invoice value if both traders are registered and transaction is on C Forms.
3. Bar Code Scanning shall have to be done by your warehouse. Few suppliers will cooperate you in this regard.
4. Reasonable rates are possible if your sourcing is good.
5. 20 lakhs is (More Than) sufficient for retail and very low for wholesale. So it depends what way you operate. Best wishes,

1. People generally do not buy much cars .
2. Those who buy cars, generally wait for the rains to be over to get the accessories done.
The business used to be dull at yearend earlier, these days it is otherwise. It is a good business at yearend as more people buy cars due to good discounts at that time.

@Amol, As far as i know there are two shops in Beed One of them is Satya Sai Accessories (Kiran Patil). Pune and Auranagabad both markets are already flooded with retailers. Still i suggest that you try in Pune. Your budget is little less but if you get some support from any wholesaler then there should be no problem.

1) My budget is too low, approx 5-7 lakhs, would that be fine?
2) And if i start doing this, hope it wont go in losses, and i've heard that accessories have a lot of margin...
