All we are looking for the some other income where we can produce apart from our salaries. So slowly we are starting with the 30 animals and every month we increase the number of animals in double. Feed your sheep well, avoid theft and diseases break down in your farm and proper marketing, this is enough in india when sheep goes to butcher he will not see whether this 12,000- 15000 Rs Special sheep like Merino or Rambouillte or it is local sheep or disease sheep as his main aim is to cut sheep and sell it so adopt same policy as to give best product in the market with less margin and more turnover.

@Khaja Moinuddin, You need to grow fodder in ur farm apart from sending sheeps for grazing in near by open lands. in 4 acre you can grow fodder for 100 Sheeps and if you dont have water in ur land take land on lease and grow fodder. you can get subsidy if you apply loan from local bank for sheeps. i think no subsidy for ex army man. Go for Nellore Brown or Jodpi. we have project report on sheep fattening and goat farming you can buy from us 1000 Rs each.

Hello Sir, I am from karimnagar, I have 5 acres of land with good water facility, I am interested in the sheep farming. Please advice me as to which breed suits my area and also precautions needed to be taken as a novice.
