    I have had an online boutique for some time now and have been reaching out to shoe manufacturers to create my designs. I have 10-15 designs in mind. I am looking for low MOQ to start out with and then ramp up. I know that my colleagues and existing customer base will love the shoes and order, I just have to get the ball rolling. I have had a few companies contact me and I have given them a design idea. One has been VERY diligent with getting me designs but then quoted me $38-45 per shoe which I KNOW is insane for China especially since I have seen similar designs for $15-25 each on these. International websites. What that tells me is that they got he shoes made for far less. I'm looking to build good, long lasting business relationships with companies.     Since I was a little girl my dream was to one day open a beautiful and an elegant shoe store with all sort of bags , boots, slippers, accessories. I live on a very small island with approx. 140.000 people. Not much to break even at least. I wish I could get some idea so I could think about and make my dream come true.     hi there, my name is Ana I am from Australia (sydney) I imported these beautiful shoes ladies kids and mens 500 pairs all up, I sold around 100 to either shops and friends, there hand made leather shoes from Spain. There an unusual shoe that the Australian market has no idea how comfy they are, we had alot of rain this summer so that didn't help the sales. i want these shoes to be known here in Australia there quite popular in europe but not in australia, it's only a summer shoe that is available not winter.

    Los angeles ca. I would like to start an online shoe business selling only extended sizes i.e 9-14 womens shoes. I want to know if you feel like there is a market for this and what should be my steps in making my dream come true. I have been looking at manufacturers and they either have the shoes that I am looking for but the cost is too high. Or the cost is low but they want me to buy thousands of shoes to start.     Los angeles Ca I would like to see my shoes from 80-150 dollars and I could not have a cost of more than 50 dollars? Is that high? Since I am selling to larger sized women market I know that quality is very important and I would like to have a good quality shoe to sell.

    @Angelic, The price is not high at all. As you have mentioned, you will be selling quality. A person looking for quality is expecting to pay between 100 to 500 dollars for a pair of shoes. In Europe, it is more like between 200 dollars and 2000 dollars. But you also want to keep your price reasonable to attract customers so between 80-150 dollars is a good selling price.

    @Angelic Hi Angelic, you want to search for a manufacturer or a supplier here, if so ,we can have a talk, and maybe I can do u a favor about this, and in my opinion, 80 to 150 usd is a good price level for customers in US and even in europe, since you want to keep you cost at or below 50USD, and you should find a supplier or a manufacture to help u with this, and dropship service is a good choice for u, but the problem is sometimes, the quality does not equal to the price.

    @Fran Budd, attaching the labels to shoes is a time and money consuming task. I would suggest that you get them labeled in Asia before you receive them. However, there are companies who would label them for you,but the cost of that plus your cost of production will make your shoes expensive.

I started checking the comments to get idea on how to start a mens shoe wholesale business in U.K. I have very very interesting profile ,currently we are importing mens footwear from china. we have a monthly purchase of minimum 125 k pairs of shoes, having wholesale price around usd 5 to 8.5. All for distributing in India market. By gods grace we hold the top position among importers for india. Any way that was just the introduction to find real help in starting footwear business In. U.k.
