    I live in SE Alaska and would like to start a mushroom business. It is a rainforest and perfect climate to grow them outdoors. The Forest Service pays thinners to cut alder here which they consider a junk wood. I want to get the contracts to thin from the USFS and use the logs for indoor and outdoor production. I have a grant writer that is very interested in my idea. I need to develop a business plan and need some guidance. I have researched the market here and the possibilities seem endless.     hi I don't know how to write under your questions. one answer I found was written that you must check your soil to grow mushroom. Mushroom is an indoor crop and can be grown in plastic bags. the material to grow mushrooms are poultry manure, wheat straw, wheat bran, cotton seed cake, paddy straw, maize stalks, saw dust etc etc for different types of mushroom different types of material and different methods also. there are methods to treat the rooms also before you put the spawn mix bags in the rooms. If somebody is really serious then should send me the room sizes available and open area etc etc. all the details then i can make a project report for you guys. If we ant to grow one ton mushroom everyday then we must require 2 acres of land for sure. Everybody knows something but nobody knows everything. I know a little about mushroom and it is not a big deal once somebody starts to grow. in the beginning or by knowing it looks very difficult but if some one is committed and wants to grow mushroom can grow very easily. good luck

    @Dharmendra, well dharnmendra tips depend on what is your investment plan. In mushroom u can invest from 5000 rupees to any crores. do u hv rooms ready? which mushroom u want to grow? there are 14000 variety of mushroom and 6 are world famous verities. it depends on your temprature also, means your climate. Mostly people grow button mushroom, which we require 25 c for 20 days and then mushroom cultivation will be at 16 to 18 c temperature. Oyester mushroom you can grow started from 30 c and fruit ( mushroom) will come out at 26 c temperature. if you invest 5000 rupees in mushroom and work properly then you can make 10,000 rupees in 65 days and if you invest 1 crore, work properly . you can make 2 crores in 65 days.

    Hi, I have a Vietnamese friend who is interested in starting a mushroom farm especially for cullinary mushrooms -oyster, shitake, but others too? - in Central Vietnam. They have two main seasons - hot and humid, colder and humid (10-35C) and 80-85% humidity. There are mountains nearby -about 3,000ft. with a marginally cooler climate. Not much access to sawdust but lots of rice, corn and sugar cane grown in area. I hope you might have some very useful information that could help him. It would be much appreciated. Thanks, David

    @MICROFUNGI AGRO-AGRI & HERBS, Sir Thank U for giving reply. First off all I want to start in my house in single room size 9" x 10" with low investment of Rs. 5,000/- to Rs. 6,000/-. So here means in HYDERABAD, A.P temperature is up to 43 O Celsius. After summer it may 20 - 28 Celsius. But through out year I want to continue this cultivation. Because I am one of the retired employee. So as earliest I need & earn money. Mostly I much interested to cultivate the Milk mushroom & Oyster mushroom.
