@swati kumari, The quantity is not clear it might be 50000 bag please clarify . In indian or abroad there is no alternate source of energy than electricity. Cold storage viability is not there with solar panel. Advance work is going in research . But electrical energy is the only source available.

@supath bhakat, In West Bengal license is required for opening a cold storage . you require a license from Agricultural Marketing Board. They require clearance from Land and Land Revenue Department, Conversion of Land from Agricultural land to Industrial land, NOC from State Pollution control board, Mutation Certificate, NOC from State Fire Dept, consent from your Banker if you are taking a loan, NOC from state electricity Board. Every year you have to renew that license. For that you have to give them test report of your pressure vessels from testing agencies, Certificate from Pest control, a revenue of about Rs.10.00 per MT to the regulatory market authority. Then your license will be renewed. For potato they control the rent. This kind of checking is not their in any State. It has good and bad merits.
