@gagan,  your  minimum investment will be around 20 lakhs with brick cold chamber and @90% for panel chamber. go for freon machinery with automation. you will need appx 25 HP electric connection. you will need to make two rooms for getting subsidy. be sure that such small capacity of room are not economically viable in storage of potato alone. you may spk or discuss for any further proposal of cold rooms.

there is ample scope for storing the vegetables which comes from hills in May/June for short and sell at very high price at plains like in Delhi Lucknow. wholesaler will come to you. secondly you can store apples of UK or orange during harvest season. bank loans easily available for mini cold store. go for freon operated plant, rooms made of PUF panels. if need my help, in selection of source of supply of cold rooms & whole sellers in UP for your products contact koolsfresh@gmail.com

cost of multi purpose plant, machinery and rooms above plinth will be appx @ 8000 per MT appx with freon plant. if you are little away but within 5-6 km of city, can go for ice plant and ripening chambers also with cold rooms without additional plant capacity and ammonia plant.

@Ravi, @anooppurohit, there is no such requirement. you can take up even as small a 5 mt cold room but minimum 2 cold rooms. but smaller cold rooms are costly compare to large one. generally potato cold stores are viable economically only when stored 25000 bori on rent or partly on rent and partly own for trading. smaller cold rooms are also gives profit only for green vegetables or fruits which gives return within 2 - 3 months. for further details may contact me at mob 8127640001.

what do you want to store. storing chili alone may not be viable. so you have to decide the produce to store and discuss. also think for addition of ice plant with cold store if suitable in your area.

appx cost of 2000 MT of Potato cold store shall be appx Rs. 200 Lakhs minimum. storage of potato alone shall not be profitable of on rent basis alone. you can go for 4 storey high freon operated automatic plant temp range 0 - 16 C. you can also take up ice plant and banana ripening unit, own storage of local fruits like malta/orange/shimla Mirch/ patta gobi which are low cost but gives high returns in short period. then your cold store will be highly profitable. for any query contact ph no 8127640001 ?

@Ravinder singh? may contact me for cold store. anyway do not go for capacity less then 1000 MT of potato storage for economically viable project it will cost you appx 100 Lakhs INR. we do all civil work steel work refrigeration installation plants etc.
